On several Spring and Fall days, you and your family can ride in a real railroad caboose for a 45-minute round trip. Trains will be departing from the Whippany Railway Museum in Morris County, NJ. Come down to the Whippany Railway Museum on Sunday, October 21, 2018 to ride the Halloween Express.

Trains will depart at 1,2,3, and 4 PM and will include our fleet of historic cabooses as well as the Jersey Coast club car. Tickets can be purchased up to two hours in advance on the WRYM web site, after that any remaining tickets will be available at the Museum's Whippany ticket office on a first come, first served bases.

Visit the Whippany Railway Museum on Saturday, May 19th... Armed Forces Day... from Noon to 5 PM when the Military Transport Association of North Jersey will display a wide variety of classic, restored U.S. Military vehicles and more at the Museum site.

Visitors will also see restored vintage locomotives and rail cars at the site. This Armed Forces Day event will be run in conjunction with the Museum's regularly-scheduled 'Excursion Train Rides' that will operate on the same day. Visitors can climb aboard an authentic, restored caboose or the elegant Jersey Coast club car and enjoy a relaxing trip back to a simpler era. The train ride is a 10-mile, 45-minute round trip. A unique part of this event will feature two railroad flatcars carrying military "cargo" that will be part of the consist of each train operating throughout the day.

The Military Transport Association of North Jersey is a non-profit organization for people interested in collecting, restoring and operating Historic U.S. Military Vehicles of all types. Check out the MTA's website at

On Sunday, October 07, From 12:30pm to 5:00pm, you and your family can enjoy an afternoon amid the Color and Spirit of Fall in the Whippanong Valley of Morris County, New Jersey.

Autumn is a Season of Family Fun, and the Pumpkin, the reassuring signal of seasonal passage, never fails to bring forth the image of cool nights, bright harvest moons, crackling fires, and the warmth of family and friends. And when pumpkins appear, they take on a playful appearance, alerting everyone that the special magic of HALLOWEEN, with its goblins, ghouls, and witches lies just around the corner.

We are asking for your help to reach our goal of raising $100,000 to cover the cost of the fire box stay bolts. Like all steam engines, the fire box is held in it's boiler by over 900 stay bolts. These bolts cost approximately $35 each or $100 each installed.

Admission to the Museum site, including Museum Building, Grounds and Rolling Stock Collection is: ADULTS - $2.00, CHILDREN under 12 - $1.00. Admission fees support our Historic Preservation efforts, as well as building, grounds and artifact maintenance.

You can enjoy an operating O-gauge model railroad layout, railroad artifacts, a gift shop, and outdoor railroad equipment
