Steam Locomotive 385 Returns to Whippany
|
After 35 years, steam locomotive No. 385, returned to Whippany on March 5, 2008. Thanks to the family of the late Joseph Supor, Jr., for donating and transporting the 100-year-old Baldwin 2-8-0 "Consolidation" locomotive, and thanks to the Morristown & Erie Railway for moving the 385 from Cedar Knolls to the Museum grounds.

Preserving New Jersey's Railroad History
Notice to Our Visitors
The Museum is open SUNDAYS ONLY, April through October, 12 Noon until 4 PM.
Admission to the Museum site, including Museum Building, Grounds and Rolling Stock Collection is: ADULTS - $1.00, CHILDREN under 12 - 50 cents. Admission fees support our Historic Preservation efforts, as well as building, grounds and artifact maintenance.

A Salute to the Morris County Central RR
The predecessor organization of the Whippany Railway Museum was the Morris County Central Railroad Museum, which operated from 1965 to 1973 in conjunction with the steam-powered weekend excursion trains of the MORRIS COUNTY CENTRAL RAILROAD (MCC). |
