Museum Operating Schedule The Whippany Railway Museum is open to the public Sundays Only, April thru October 12 Noon - 4:00 PM. During our Special Events, the Museum is open from 11:30 AM - 5:00 PM. On these special days, the train generally operates at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 & 4:00 PM. Please check our Event Calendar for a complete list of dates, fares and train schedules. Back to Top / Return to Home Page Admission Fees The Whippany Railway Museum is a non-profit, educational organization that relies entirely on admission fees to support our historic preservation efforts, as well as building, grounds and artifact maintenance. Every visitor is expected to purchase an admission badge if they wish to explore the Museum Building, Rolling Stock Collection and Grounds. Please take weather into consideration when expecting to visit as our Rolling Stock exhibits are outdoors. Our Special Event Trains operate regardless of weather. Smoking is also prohibited on all railroad equipment, whether on display or in operation. Back to Top / Return to Home Page Carry-In Picnics Food and non-alcoholic beverage carry-ins are acceptable during your regular visit to the Museum. A small outdoor picnic area is available for your use on a first-come, first-served basis. Carry-ins are not welcome during Museum Special Events, such as the Easter Bunny Express, Pumpkin Festival, Santa Claus Special, and others.
